The “MatriArchs – Pioneering Woman Architects of Oregon” exhibit, previously on display at Portland’s Center for Architecture in April 2014, is opening on February 5, 2015 at Portland State University’s Shattuck Hall.  AIA Portland describes the exhibit as follows:

“MatriArchs – Pioneering Woman Architects of Oregon documents the lives and careers of thirteen of the first women to practice architecture in Oregon.  The exhibit was created by the Women in Architecture (WIA) committee and opened in 1992.

Building off the content of the original exhibit, 7 women Fellows of the American Institute of Architects and the American Society of Landscape Architects have been added to the exhibition.

A consortium of representatives of the AIA Portland, Center for Architecture, ForWARD and the Architecture Foundation of Oregon have reprized and refreshed the original exhibit, and added to its content.

A special thanks to Willamette Print & Blueprint for their generous assistance.”

The exhibit will open on February 5th with an opening reception at 5:00pm preceding a 6:00pm lecture by Alison B. Hirsch.  Following the reception, the exhibit will be on display through February 26th.  Be sure to visit this incredible exhibit before it’s gone!
